❔

One of the great lost moments in the career of Trevor Horn – and the only real full album from Propaganda! The group have an approach that has bits of the Art of Noise love of sound texture, and which also seems to borrow a bit from the German electronics of the early 80s – but fuses the groove into a more straightforward Factory Records-ish sort of sound. A few tunes get a bit hokey at times, but there's also some great numbers here that were key crossovers in the later wave of the 80s import invasion to American club – and which played well in the Chicago house scene. Tracks include "Dream Within A Dream", "Murder Of Love", "Jewel", "Del", "P-Machinery", "Sorry For Laughing", "Dr Mabuse", "Chase", "Last Word/Strength To Dream".  © 1996-2019, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Includes the printed inner sleeve. Cover has light wear and some sticker remnants.)

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Slow Dazzle
Island, 1975. Very Good
Dazzling work from John Cale – exactly the kind of record that shows why his solo years were so great! End
Island, 1974. Near Mint-
One of Nico's darkest albums – and the kind of record we always suggest to those who doubt her genius! The incredibly spare set has Nico playing harmonium, which makes for a spooky off-kilter sound that really gives the record a somber approach – especially as the instrument sounds a ...
