Belle Of Avenue A

LP (Item 671972) Reprise, 1969 — Condition: Very Good+
One of the last couple of Fugs albums for Reprise – '69's Belle Of Avenue A – and a mix of stripped down acoustic weirdness and the more heated Fugs-style rock & roll of other Reprise albums by the group! In one level, it seems like they might have simply exorcised the experimental psychedelia demon with the more wildly arranged It Crawled Into My Hand, Honest album and decided to let this one succeed on the basis of the political satire and poetry of their wordplay. But it's not that simple, as they rage pretty heavily on a couple tunes and strip it down to the barest essentials on others. Ultimately, it's another sharp, worthy Fugs album everyone outta pick up! Inclludes "Bum's Song", "Dust Devil", "Chicago", "For Minutes To Twelve", "Queen Of The Nile", "Yodeling Yippie", "Children Of The Dream" and more.  © 1996-2025, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Condition Notes

If something is relevant, we try to describe it in the notes — especially if it is release or pressing details, or an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
