More than a decade's worth of genius from arranger Johnny Richards – the long-overdue release of his seminal albums for Capitol, Roulette, and Legende Records from the 50s and 60s! Richards first came to fame working for Stan Kenton in the early 50s – and although is work is featured on some of Kenton's best-remembered albums, Richards also had a lot more tricks up his sleeve than he ever used with Stan – a good many of which are featured in this package! The albums run through modes that include modern big band arrangements, sparer tone poems in sound, hard-driving Latin tracks, and some especially nice high-concept pieces that still always manage to swing with the trademark Johnny Richards groove that was a real standout in the high modern years of the Kenton group. Package features a whopping 6 albums on 3 CDs – Annotations Of The Muses, Wide Range, Experiments In Sound, Rites Of Diablo, My Fair Lady My Way, and Aqui Se Habla Espanol – a total of 50 tracks in all, presented with the original liner notes and full session details! © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.

All of our used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. After you receive a used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly. If it does not, you can request a return for a full refund.
