Taos

LP (Item 667529) Mercury, 1970 — Condition: Very Good+
Gatefold
A very cool set – one that has the urban-into-rural vibe of some of the Marin County music of the time – served up by a group who mix electric and acoustic instruments nicely – a blend of organ, steel guitar, acoustic and electric guitars, dulcimer, piano, and percussion!  © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Spanky & Our Gang
Mercury, 1967. Very Good+ Gatefold
The first, and perhaps the most conventional album by Spanky & Our Gang – but still pretty darn insane! Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band

Unconditionally Guaranteed
Mercury, 1974. Near Mint-
A set that's maybe a bit more standard song-based than some of the Captain's other records, but an album that's still filled with all the special magic that makes Beefheart so great! The magic band includes work from Zoot Horn Rollo on some wonderful glass finger guitar, plus keyboards from Mark ... LP, Vinyl record album

Yello

One Second
Mercury, 1987. Very Good
Certainly a more pop-based effort than some of Yello's previous albums, but still a great little record – filled with playful electronics and a really unique sense of rhythm and groove! Love

Love
Elektra, 1966. Very Good+
Love's first album – a seminal bit of Sunset Strip rock, and every bit as powerful today as it was in the 60s! The style's a bit sharper-edged than the group's classic and more familiar Forever Changes set, but it's still pretty darn great – a completely fresh batch of guitar-heavy ... LP, Vinyl record album

Shadows

Shades Of Rock
Columbia (UK), 1970. Near Mint-
A groovy, far reaching blend of moddish funk rock, organ groovers, and sounds both spacey and laidback from the Shadows – a mix of rock & soul instrumental covers tight arrangements that leave just enough room for the players to bring just enough intensity to their parts! The ... LP, Vinyl record album
Date, 1968. Near Mint-
An incredible album – one of the greatest rock albums of the 60s, and a record we'd place right up there on the shelf next to Pet Sounds or Forever Changes! The arrangements are sublime – proof that the Zombies were growing way past just a simple Brit Invasion style, into a world of ... LP, Vinyl record album
