A Verve album that pairs the avant garde clarinet of Jimmy Giuffre with the orchestrations of the String Section of the Sudwestfunk Orchestra of Baden-Baden. The record features some of Giuffre's most stretched-out playing to date, and it's a real hint of the outside directions he would take later in the 60's.
