The great second Eric B & Rakim album – benchmark hip hop of the first order! Following up Paid In Pull, Follow The Leader completes one of the great one-two punches in hip hop history – bring in a richer, fuller, more skillfully creating sound, without sacrificing the dense, hard hitting, sparely funk greatness of the debut. Includes the awesome title track, plus "Lyrics Of Fury", "Microphone Fiend", "The R", "Musical Massacre", "No Competition", "Just A Beat", "Eric B Never Scared", "Put Your Hands Together", "To The Listeners" and "Beats For The Listeners".  © 1996-2016, Dusty Groove, Inc.

We realize that there are many different interpretations of the standard grades used for pre-owned vinyl record albums & CD, so we thought we'd offer you the ones that we are working with, so you have an idea what we mean when we give the grade for a non-new item on our pages.

Used Vinyl Grades

Below are stated conditions for a used vinyl records at Dusty Groove. Grading for the cover should be assumed to be near (within a "+" or "-") the grading for the vinyl. If there is significant divergence from the condition of the vinyl, or specific flaws, these will be noted in the comments section of the item. However, please be aware that since the emphasis of this site is towards the music listener, our main concern is with the vinyl of any used item we sell. Additionally, please note that all of our records are graded visually; considering the volume of used vinyl we handle, it is impossible for us to listen to each record. If we spot any significant flaws, we make every attempt to listen through them and note how they play.

The following grading conditions apply to the vinyl component of an album or single:

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Regent, Late 40s. Very Good
A full Regent album of earlier Savoy singles cut by Charlie Ventura – all in that great mix of bop and swing he was known for at the time, with a really cool groove overall! A few of the cuts have vocals by Buddy Stewart – boppish, scatting vocals that really swing nicely – and ... LP, Vinyl record album

Atlantic, 1989. Near Mint-
A Juice Crew classic, in spite of some less than stellar moments like "Turn This House Into A Home", though Craig G's so fierce on the mic on cuts like "Shootin' The Gift", that we can forgive him for the few tracks on this LP that don't quite live up to that standard. Profile, 1984. Very Good-
The classic self-titled LP that changed hip hop (and much of modern pop) forever! There's little we can add to the canon for this record. Run DMC ushered in a new era in contemporary urban culture, a harder hitting style of rap the bust out of the inner cities and into consciousness of an entire ... LP, Vinyl record album
