Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Used CD Grade

We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD". This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer Used CDs in the best shape possible.

When you purchase a Used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves), and the booklet to be in good shape. Used CDs may show some signs of use but if there are significant details or defects we will list them underneath the item — just like we do with LPs — so look there for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details.

All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly — and if it does not, then you may return it for a full refund.

Try It & You'll Like It
CM, 1975. Used
A great bit of Puerto Rican salsa from the 70s – one of the few albums we've ever seen from this 70s group! The set looks like a boogaloo album from the outset – from its TV-joke title, and its cool cover that sports a die-cut looking into the belly of a bikini-clad model – but ... CD

Fania, 1981. Used
An unusual self-produced effort from Hector Lavoe – but a record that's every bit as strong as his other solo records from the time! Of course, Hector's got some big help on the record from Louie Ramirez and Jose Febles – who most likely did most of the arranging work, and ensure that ... CD

Lebron Brothers

Criollo
Cotique, 1982. Used
Great late work from the brothers Lebron – with titles that include "Madre", "Abran Camino", "Sin Negro No Hay Guaguanco", "Yo Te Cante", "Siempre Sera", and "Voy A Caminar". CD

Vladimir And His Orchestra

New Sound In Latin Jazz
Alegre, Late 60s. Used
One of the few albums ever recorded by Vladimir Vassilieff – an obscure late 60s piano player who's best known for his groovy album The Aquarians! The record's a really wonderful set that really lives up to its title – a haunting set of Latin jazz numbers played with a hip group that ... CD

Dave Brubeck

Time Out
Columbia, 1959. Used
Easily the crowning moment of genius for the legendary Dave Brubeck Quartet – the moment when all things came together magically, and the group somehow elevated themselves to a whole new level in jazz! At the time of the set, Brubeck, Paul Desmond, and the rest had already been making plenty ... CD
Mosaic/Blue Note, 1950s/1998. Used 6CD
An extraordinary document of Mobley's earliest recordings for the Blue Note label! A great group set with Bobby Watson on alto, Bill Pierce on tenor, and James Williams on piano! Tracks are long – and titles include "Gypsy Folk Tales", "How Deep Is The Ocean", "Webb City", and "Skylark". CD

Freddie Hubbard

Red Clay (with bonus track)
CTI, 1970. Used
Amazing work from Freddie Hubbard – one of his best albums ever! The title cut's a classic, but all cuts on the album are great – and really set a whole new standard for soul jazz in the 70s! Unlike the freer runs of Miles Davis, Freddie takes things into territory here that's open, ... CD
