Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Used CD Grade

We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD". This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer Used CDs in the best shape possible.

When you purchase a Used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves), and the booklet to be in good shape. Used CDs may show some signs of use but if there are significant details or defects we will list them underneath the item — just like we do with LPs — so look there for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details.

All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly — and if it does not, then you may return it for a full refund.

Fania, 1981. Used
An unusual self-produced effort from Hector Lavoe – but a record that's every bit as strong as his other solo records from the time! Of course, Hector's got some big help on the record from Louie Ramirez and Jose Febles – who most likely did most of the arranging work, and ensure that ... CD

By the mid 70s, the New York Latin scene was boomin' so large it could easily fill venues like Yankee Stadium – as you'll hear on this excellent live set from the Fania All-Stars, a monster record that easily ranks with the best live Latin sides of the time – like Eddie Palmieri at Sing ... CD

Pacheco

Artist
Fania, 1977. Used
Johnny Pacheco's still one hell of an artist well into these late 70s years of his career – one of the key talents in the transformation of the New York Latin sound in the early 60s, and still equally vibrant in his work for the younger generation too! The album's got that cool, cooking ... CD

Ismael Miranda con Orchestra Harlow

Abran Paso! (remastered edition)
Fania, 1971. Used
The last album that Ismael Miranda cut with Orchestra Harlow – but an extremely strong effort that draws from all the great work they did together! Larry Harlow's still very firmly at the helm of the set – producing, arranging, and playing piano with the classic Orchestra Harlow lineup ... CD

Eddie Palmieri

La Verdad – The Truth
Fania, 1987. Used
A great little salsa session – issued in kind of a cheapo cover, but with some of Eddie's best grooves of the 80s! The album's got a great jazzy touch, and the rhythm section is excellent – very subtle, and with a dark edge that works perfectly with Eddie's piano solos. Most tracks ... CD

Joe Torres

Latino Con Soul
Pacific Jazz, 1966. Used
A heck of a great Latin Soul album – one of the best of the 60s, and pretty darn rare as well! The set's the only one we've ever seen from leader Joe Torres – and it's an incredible blend of soul jazz and Latin rhythms that was one of the few west coast sessions of its type! Normally, ... CD
