Too Tough To Die

LP (Item 650487) Sire, 1984 — Condition: Near Mint-
Originally: 44.99

Ramones — Too Tough To Die ... LP 22.99
A great 80s album from The Ramones – one that has the group slowing things down a bit, but in ways that allow them to revel in the more sinister sounds they were developing at the time! The group are definitely aging, but also finding that new sound that kept them going on Sire Records well through the 80s – presented here with leaner energy than on some of the later records, and a mode that almost seems to make a nod towards some of the changes that were taking place in punk rock, especially out on the west coast. Titles include "Wart Hog", "Too Tough To Die", "Daytime Dilemma", "Howling At The Moon", "Planet Earth 1988", "Endless Vacation", "Mama's Boy", and "I'm Not Afraid Of Life".  © 1996-2025, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Original pressing with Sterling stamp. Includes the printed inner sleeve. Cover has some surface wear and light aging.)

Near Mint - (minus)

  • Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
  • Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
  • One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so. These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play, but might detract from the looks.
  • May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record. (Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
  • May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
  • Possible minor surface noise when played.

Condition Notes

If something is relevant, we try to describe it in the notes — especially if it is release or pressing details, or an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Pleasant Dreams
Sire, 1981. Very Good+
A compelling chapter in the career of The Ramones – a set that has the group working with the mighty Graham Gouldman of 10CC as producer – in an effort to maybe help the group's trademark sound cross over big, but which ended up having an even stronger approach overall! Ramones
Sire, 1976. Near Mint-
As great of a rock & roll album as there's ever been! Leave Home
Sire, 1977. Near Mint-
The Ramones really caught their classic recorded sound for the first time on Leave Home – the second of their three perfect late 70s milestones. As amazing as the debut is, its two-channel shrieking buzzsaw sound bowed nicely to the slightly more digestible, but just as cathartic roar of the ... LP, Vinyl record album
