Bend Me Shape Me

LP (Item 644461) Acta, Late 60s — Condition: Very Good
Temporarily Out Of Stock

LP, Vinyl record album

❔

(Stereo pressing. Cover has light wear.)

Very Good

  • Vinyl can have some dirt, but nothing major.
  • May not shine under light, but should still be pretty clean, and not too dirty.
  • May have a number of marks (5 to 10 at most), and obvious signs of play, but never a big cluster of them, or any major mark that would be very deep. Most marks should still not click under a fingernail.
  • May not look near perfect, but should play fairly well, with slight surface noise, and the occasional click in part of a song, but never throughout a whole song or more.
  • This is clearly a copy that was played by someone a number of times, but which could also be a good "play copy" for someone new.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Neighb'rhood Childr'n

Neighb'rhood Childr'n
Acta, 1968. Near Mint-
A trippy, but poppy psychedelic relic from Neighb'rhood Childr'n – a group from a Oregon that trekked to San Francisco to record the album – and it sure sound like they belong right there in the fabled Bay psych scene! Male and female females, groovy guitars, swirls of organ and drums ... LP, Vinyl record album

Dennis Wilson

Pacific Ocean Blue
Columbia, 1977. Very Good Gatefold
A surprisingly sweet solo effort from Beach Boy Dennis Wilson – a record of surprising depth and darkness, and arguably stronger than most of the albums at the time from the larger group! Dennis produced the album himself, with some executive help from James William Guerico – whose ... LP, Vinyl record album

Duane Eddy

Water Skiing
RCA, 1964. Very Good
Duane's twangy guitar sound is applied to the water skiing scene, in what was probably an attempt to establish a new trend away from surf or hot rod instrumentals. The sound, however, is very much in the surf/hot rod style – with lots of groovy "twang" out front, and zippy ... LP, Vinyl record album

Stop Making Sense
Sire, 1984. Very Good

Columbia, 1971. Very Good
Moody, folksy work from the Canadian duo of Fraser & Debolt – helped here by a bit of extra work on fiddle from Ian Guenther! The sound is often quite spare – acoustic guitars and vocals, with little else more than the guest fiddle – in a style that's nicely rough-edged, ... LP, Vinyl record album

Mothers Of Invention (Frank Zappa)

We're Only In It For The Money
Verve, 1968. Very Good Gatefold
An early masterpiece from Frank Zappa – one of those records that looks like it's going to be a big ol' mess when you first see the cover – but which turns out to be a carefully calculated act of madness in the end! The Mothers have all their freeform freaky brilliance intact here ... LP, Vinyl record album

Brotherhood

Brotherhood (1968)
RCA, 1968. Very Good
The first album ever from The Brotherhood – an offshoot of Paul Revere & The Raiders, filled with some of that group's greatest early players! The core of the group features Drake Levin on guitar, Phil Volk on bass, and Mike Smith on drums – romping with the kind of raw, party-style ... LP, Vinyl record album

Jimmy Smith

Any Number Can Win
Verve, 1963. Very Good Gatefold
Sessions like this are proof that Jimmy was one of the most fantastic organ players ever – as his work with large arrangements (supplied here by Claus Ogerman) always seems to groove better than his work with small combos. His sound is impeccable, and he soars ahead of the rest of the ... LP, Vinyl record album
