This image is a general representation of the item and the actual product may differ slightly in terms of color shading, logo placement, borders, or other small details. Used items may have various cosmetic differences as well.
Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so.
These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play,
but might detract from the looks.
May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be
intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under
the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record.
(Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
Possible minor surface noise when played.
Additional Marks & Notes
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
A real classic from blues giant Joe Turner – a singer who burst back to the mainstream on 50s Atlantic Records, thanks to a host of R&B singles that burned up the charts – but who here returns to his roots, and lays down a great set of jazzy tunes that get back to his roots in the ... Joe Turner rides again – but in a style that's a bit more like his Kansas City roots than some of the R&B he was cutting for Atlantic Records in the 50s! There's a nice jazz vibe to the record – thanks to sharp arrangements from Ernie Wilkins, who's really coming into his own here ... LP, Vinyl record album
A set recorded in Paris, but one with a great small combo vibe that's right in the spirit of Chicago – work from Lucky Peterson on organ and piano next to the vocals and guitar of Little Milton! LP, Vinyl record album
A collection of older work by Otis Spann – pulled together from a variety of other Bluesway albums, and issued as an all-Spann package after his untimely early death. The work here is mostly in a down-n-dirty mode – with Otis on both vocals and piano, plus assistance from Muddy Waters ... LP, Vinyl record album
Mighty great live work from John Lee Hooker – recorded during an all-night concert in early 70s San Francisco – but with a freewheeling groove that feels like a small club in Chicago during the early years of electric blues! Hooker's guitar and vocals are tremendous – often ... LP, Vinyl record album
Sonny Stitt's going down slow here – hitting a groove that's a bit more laidback than some of his funkier albums for Prestige, but one that's still pretty darn great overall! The sound is almost in a Stanley Turrentine mode at CTI – with fuller arrangements behind his saxophone solos, ... LP, Vinyl record album
A wonderful space disco classic from the years before house music – and a record that's gone on to have a huge influence on generations of dancefloors over the years!
