Vital Signs

LP (Item 643109) Scotti Bros, 1984 — Condition: Sealed
...

Sealed

This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap. We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time, we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape — which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played, the record will still qualify as "Sealed".

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Bell, 1972. Very Good+ Gatefold
Surprisingly sublime pop from The Partridge Family – served up with superb arrangements from Wes Farrell and Mike Melvoin, the latter of whom plays some really great keyboards on the set! Uni, Late 60s. Near Mint-
A nice bit of funky rock from the late 60s – with touches of soul, and some jazzy horns in the mix too! The vocals get a bit white boy soul at most times – but the backing is pretty nice, and the group have a raw funky sound on the best tunes. There's a nice cover of "I Thank ... Gary Glitter
Bell, 1972. Very Good+ Gatefold

One of the greatest moments ever from the mighty John Lydon – a record that maybe blows away all other albums by Public Image – and which also stands strongly next to the work of the Sex Pistols, but in a very different way! Gene Simmons

Goin' Back To Memphis
Hi Records (UK), Early 60s. Near Mint-
Great early work from the first Gene Simmons – not the guy who sang for Kiss in the 70s, but an earlier rocking singer from the south! He's a great rocker from that 60s southern scene that didn't really care where they drew their inspiration from – a bit of R&B, a bit of country, ... LP, Vinyl record album

Somethin' Else!!

McCoy Tyner

Time For Tyner
Blue Note, 1969. Sealed
Brilliant work from groundbreaking pianist McCoy Tyner – an album that has him firmly stepping out of the shadow of his old boss John Coltrane – and really taking off with a new level of spiritual jazz expression that Tyner's scene helped to foster in the 70s! The group on the set is a ... LP, Vinyl record album

Billy Larkin & the Delegates

Don't Stop
World Pacific/Liberty, Mid 60s. Very Good+
Tight funky organ work from Billy Larkin and his hard-swingin Delegates combo! This stuff was the west coast equivalent of New Jersey organ combos – and you can bet your bippy that Billy & Co were blasting loud out of every jukebox on Central Ave during the 60s. This album's still got ... LP, Vinyl record album
