Live Album

LP (Item 636716) Capitol, Early 70s — Condition: Very Good
2LP Gatefold

(Lime green label pressing. Cover has surface and edge wear and a few small seam splits.)

Very Good

  • Vinyl can have some dirt, but nothing major.
  • May not shine under light, but should still be pretty clean, and not too dirty.
  • May have a number of marks (5 to 10 at most), and obvious signs of play, but never a big cluster of them, or any major mark that would be very deep. Most marks should still not click under a fingernail.
  • May not look near perfect, but should play fairly well, with slight surface noise, and the occasional click in part of a song, but never throughout a whole song or more.
  • This is clearly a copy that was played by someone a number of times, but which could also be a good "play copy" for someone new.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Beach Boys

20/20
Capitol, 1969. Very Good+ Gatefold
An understated masterpiece from The Beach Boys – a record that's probably best known for its inclusion of some key tracks from the Smile sessions – but an album that stands pretty darn nicely on its own! The group are really maturing here – and the mix of Smile-era songs and some ... LP, Vinyl record album

Bob Seger System

Ramblin' Gamblin' Man
Capitol, 1969. Very Good+
Heavy psych from Detroit, in the years before Bob Seger became a "lighters in the air" peddler of redneck theme songs. Cut from the same cloth as the early Mitch Ryder, Amboy Dukes and Grand Funk that were the hallmark of the Motor City rock sound of the day, most of the tracks on this ... LP, Vinyl record album

A fantastic classic from The Band – a set that's hardly got them cowering in the corner the way the "stage fright" title might imply – and which instead seems to have the group at their most confident during the early years, effortlessly spinning impeccable musicianship and ... Quicksilver Messenger Service
Capitol, 1968. Sealed
One of the most progressive albums on the American scene of the late 60s – a set that's definitely psych, but which has a put-together quality that's something else as well! The group still have plenty of the optimistic charms you'd expect from their placement on the SF scene of the period ... LP, Vinyl record album

Beach Boys

Smiley Smile
Brother/Capitol, 1967. Very Good-
The slimmed-down, single LP effort that Capitol issued after the collapse of the legendary Smile album – and a pretty sublime set nonetheless! Sure, some might argue that you can't enjoy Brian Wilson's genius until you've listened to 20 bootlegs of the sessions with dozens of takes on the ... LP, Vinyl record album

Pacific Gas & Electric

PG&E
Columbia, 1971. Near Mint-
An early 70s album for Columbia by PG&E – a really strong set with great rock & soul groove in the best style of some of the other Bay Area crossover groups from the time! The line up here is augmented by some positively soaring backing chorus vocals credited to the Blackberries ... LP, Vinyl record album

Flying Burrito Brothers

Flying Burrito Brothers
A&M, 1971. Near Mint-
The Burritos first LP, post-Parsons – and a pretty strong statement for the merits of the now unquestioned leader, Rick Roberts, and multi-instrumentalist new guy Bernie Leadon, who would later turn to the dark side and join the Eagles! Roberts penned or co-penned seven of the album's ten ... LP, Vinyl record album
EG, 1983. Near Mint-
