Christmas Present & Past

LP (Item 635872) Columbia, 1967 — Condition: Very Good+
One of the coolest Christmas albums we've ever seen – a nearly all-original set by Paul Revere & The Raiders, done in collaboration with the legendary Terry Melcher! Mark Lindsay and Melcher really cooked up a great batch of tunes for the set – numbers that still retain a bit of spirit of the holiday, but which also deal with the increasing complexities of the late 60s era! Styles and instrumentation change nicely from track to track – and a good deal of the record has some of the playful arrangements and intellectual wit of Warner Brothers albums of the time – a side of The Raiders that didn't always come to the forefront, and which makes this album way more than just a Holiday set! Titles include "Wear A Smile At Christmas", "A Heavy Christmas Message", "Macy's Window", "Dear Mr Claus", "Valley Forge", "Peace", and "Rain Sleet Snow".  © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
