Sweet arrangements by Nelson Riddle! (MGM stereo pressing, in a textured cover. A nice copy!)
Near Mint - (minus)
Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so.
These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play,
but might detract from the looks.
May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be
intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under
the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record.
(Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
Possible minor surface noise when played.
Additional Marks & Notes
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
Includes "I'm The Loneliest Gal In Town", "Baby Won't You Please Come Home", "I Got It Bad (And That Ain't Good)", "Cabin In The Sky", "Can't Help Lovin' Dat Man", and more. LP, Vinyl record album
Nice small group backing – from a group that features Harry Edison and Clark Terry on trumpet, Zoot Sims and Eddie Lockjaw Davis on tenor, Joe Pass on guitar, and Tommy Flanagan on piano! LP, Vinyl record album
Groovy Ella from the end of the 60s – the kind of record that marked a really nice change from her staid work for Verve in years past! The setting here is bouncy and mod – a great mixture of jazz, soul, and bits of late 60s Brit Easy – no surprise, given that the sessions were ... LP, Vinyl record album
One of the best records ever from vocalist Bill Henderson – thanks to excellent small group backing from the Oscar Peterson Trio! LP, Vinyl record album
A superstar performance from the Antibes jazz festival at Cote D'Azur – one that features Ella Fitzgerald and Duke Ellington sharing the stage, in a concert that was also recorded for a film! Most numbers here feature the full Ellington orchestra backing Ella up – but a few other ... LP, Vinyl record album
A velvet mood, but one with a bit of an edge – as you might expect from Billie Holiday in the 50s, hardly the stuff of a too-soft vocal date! The album's got Holiday working in wonderful small combo mode – getting some key Verve backup from players who include Sweets Edison on trumpet, ... LP, Vinyl record album
