If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
Used CD Grade
We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD".
This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer
Used CDs in the best shape possible. All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play
without skipping or flaws. If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove,
you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly — and if it does not,
then you may return it for a full refund.
With our Used CDs, you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of
surface marks — clean, and not dirty at all. You can also expect the case to be
clean (we often change the cases ourselves — putting fresh cases on Used CDs we
handle) — and you can expect the booklet to be in good shape, unless noted
otherwise. We will list any specific details/defects underneath the item — so
look for notes on cutout marks in the case, stamps on the barcode, or details like that.
An excellent batch of modern soul tunes – recorded with lots of smooth jazzy touches, not with "vibes", as you might guess by the title, but in the jazz inflected tradition of some of the greats of the late 70s mellow soul generation. Showing his roots clearly, Camelle starts off ... CD
The group's second real album, and one that never manages to totally capture the groove of the first – but which still has some pretty great writing and playing that set it apart from most of the soul of its generation! The cut "Dream On Dreamer" is one of those early 90s groovers ... CD
One of the more unusual artists on the Philly-revival label Society Hill – a singer who's younger than most of their roster, and who also has roots in the Caribbean too! Production and arrangements are by Butch Ingram, who gives the set a similar modern soul update to other projects for the ... CD
Yolanda Rabun's got a great groove here – a sound that's even tighter, warmer, and jazzier than on her previous album – with all the poise and class you'd expect from her image on the cover! The instrumentation's nice and laidback – plenty of keyboards, and less of the beats that ... CD
The long-awaited second set from Kindred The Family Soul – a duo who really grabbed us with their excellent Surrender To Love, and who really follow up on its promise with this excellent set! Kindred have a totally righteous sound that's long steeped in traditions of soul and gospel – ... CD
Classy and sophisticated vocals from Akiko – a record that has the Japanese singer adding in a stronger jazz component to her music, while still keeping in the soulful territory we've always loved! The sound here is very classic – mostly done with small trio backing, and a moody, late ... CD
Man, Akiko always knows how to keep things interesting – always moving between different genres and styles, to serve up a fresh new groove with each release! This set's got the singer hitting a host of British rock tunes, mostly from the 80s – doing them with a harder edge than you ... CD
Akiko takes another wonderful turn with her music – working here in an especially mellow setting, recorded in Bugge's Room in Oslo, with production from Bugge Wesseltoft himself! The album's got the soulful glow of some of the best Wesseltoft soul productions on Jazzland from years back ... CD
The third album from Down To The Bone – the smooth UK jazzy outfit that first struck big on the US steppers scene in the mid 90s. This 3rd album's possibly their strongest to date – filled with smooth jazz soloing over tightly compressed rhythms, perfect for the modern stepping groove ... CD
