Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Used CD Grade

We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD". This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer Used CDs in the best shape possible. All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly — and if it does not, then you may return it for a full refund.

With our Used CDs, you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks — clean, and not dirty at all. You can also expect the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves — putting fresh cases on Used CDs we handle) — and you can expect the booklet to be in good shape, unless noted otherwise. We will list any specific details/defects underneath the item — so look for notes on cutout marks in the case, stamps on the barcode, or details like that.

Herb Alpert's Ninth
A&M/Shout Factory, 1967. Used
Wonderfully jaunty and jagged work from trumpeter Herb Alpert – and a session that has him opening up the Tijuana Brass groove a bit more than usual! There's clearly an influence here of the Brazilian sound that was showing up strongly at A&M Records at the time – heard to greatest ... CD

Beautifully compressed pop from Herb Alpert – a session that's still got the traditional Tijuana Brass style, but which also displays a more restrained, more adult approach to instrumental pop! The rhythms are nicely changed out more than before here – stretching out with interwoven ... CD

Cool beans! We've always loved the original Avengers TV show from England (mostly, we admit, for the chance to see Diana Rigg in black leather!) Now, Sequel have gone and put out some of Laurie Johnson's great music for the show, plus a whole batch of other 60's UK easy tracks with a nice groove ... CD

Wild stuff – and one of the oddest records we've ever heard! The work is truly a Symphony Of Birds – in that all the source material here was recorded in the field, out of the mouths of actual birds – but the overall execution is far different than just a bunch of birdcalls, and ... CD

A pre-exotica relic – cut just a year or two before bachelor pad music really broke big, and a very important album in helping get the whole thing started! The record's got a more serious feel than you might think – as pop classical conductor Morton Gould put together this mix of ... CD
