Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Used CD Grade

We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD". This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer Used CDs in the best shape possible.

When you purchase a Used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves), and the booklet to be in good shape. Used CDs may show some signs of use but if there are significant details or defects we will list them underneath the item — just like we do with LPs — so look there for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details.

All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly — and if it does not, then you may return it for a full refund.

Peter Tosh

Mama Africa
EMI, 1983. Used
One of the better late solo efforts from the former Wailer, with him toning down the politics a bit and falling back into a mellow groove. There's some nice backing vocals courtesy the Tamlins, and some nice rhythms courtesy Santa Davis, Gibby Morrison and Sly and Robbie. Includes "Mama ... CD

Peter Tosh

Bush Doctor
Trojan, 1978. Used
During the mid 70s, a number of major label rock stars had their dalliance with reggae, and after inviting him to tour with them, the Stones decided to start releasing Peter Tosh's LPs. This record was the first of Tosh's released by Keith Richards and Mick Jagger on their Rolling Stones label and ... CD
Columbia, 1977. Used
Peter Tosh's great, strongly strident second album – and easily one of his best! Equal Rights is up to par with the finest Wailers LPs, although this is a bit heavier than the groovy, mellow Legalize It, the more celebrated predecessor. A hugely important, essential set of mid-to-late 70s ... CD

Yet another value priced box pulling together some of the best from Trojan's huge catalogue of reggae classics. 50 rude boy classics here, heavy on the ska side, for your scooter run down to the shore! Way too many tracks to list here, but we're especially hip to the Skatalites' "Lucky ... CD

While there have been a number of best of's and even another album with this title, this collection of Horace Andy's work for Massive Attack's Melankolic label gets the job done right, starting out with some tight Studio One jams, and ending up with a Massive Attack number, and stopping just about ... Jah Life In Dub
Deeper Knowledge, Early 80s. Used

Heartbeat, 1970s. Used
Another Lee Perry collection? You bet! There's mountains and mountains of material out there, and this collection selects some choice bits from the fertile Black Ark period, when Perry and crew were in fine style! As you might expect, there's some overlap here with a couple of the other fine ... CD

Java Java Java Java
Get On Down, 1972. Used
Pivotal early dub! Depending upon whose history of the Jamaican recording industry you subscribe to, this is can be considered by many to be the first dub LP – and whether that's proveable or not, it's certain among the first! History aside, it's a mighty set with some raw early dub style ... CD
