To Sir, With Love

LP (Item 62434) Fontana, Late 60s — Condition: Very Good+
A pretty groovy soundtrack – one that goes way past the hit! Sure, this one's always been famous for the wonderful track "To Sir With Love" – done here in 3 versions by the young and lovely Lulu, who also starred in the film. But the record's also got some great instrumentals by Ron Granier – ones that mix in a bit of electric bass with easy instrumentation, in a manner that makes for some nicely gliding and playful numbers. Also included are two vocal tracks by The Mindbenders – rocking numbers with a Brit invasion feel. Titles include "To Sir With Love", "The Funeral", "Perhaps I Could Tidy Your Desk", "A Classical Lesson", "Museum Outings Montage", "Thackeray Meets Faculty Then Alone", and "School Break Dancing".  © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Goldfinger
United Artists, 1964. Near Mint-

A real stunner from Lalo – filled with tight jazzy soundtrack grooves, most of which sound even better than the work on the original Mission Impossible soundtrack! United Artists, Mid 60s. Near Mint-
