(Later pressing in a non-tip on cover, still sealed in clean shrink.)
Sealed
This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap.
We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't
look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time,
we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape —
which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be
torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played,
the record will still qualify as "Sealed".
Additional Marks & Notes
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
A lost landmark in early 70s roots rock – the first solo album from Bobby Whitlock – an artist who'd previously played with Derek & The Dominoes, George Harrison, and Delaney & Bonnie – and who's getting a bit of help here from both Harrison and Eric Clapton in the studio! ... LP, Vinyl record album
A really great self-titled set from Emitt Rhodes – a compelling California singer who hardly ever gets his due! The music's a wonderful mix of California late 60s singer/songwriter modes and bits of Beatles-esque production – a blend that makes for a fuller feel than usual for a record ... LP, Vinyl record album
A classic bit of southern funky rock from Roy Head – an artist who's in the same territory here as Tony Joe White on his early albums for Monument! Like Tony on those gems, Roy's got a heavy dose of soul in his music – produced to perfection by Huey P Meaux, who was handling plenty of ... LP, Vinyl record album
Titles include "Born To Be Wild", "Rock Me", "Move Over", "Snowblind Friend", "Ride With Me", "Magic Carpet Ride", "The Pusher", "Sookie Sookie", "Screaming Night Hog", "Monster", "Tenderness&quo ... LP, Vinyl record album
Pretty bluesy rock from one of the hip groups on ABC's progressive Probe imprint. The tracks are electric, clearly Chicago-inspired, and have a raunchy feel on most numbers. Titles include "Good Love", "AC/DC", "Blues Jam", "Ginger Man", "Big Boy" ... LP, Vinyl record album
Steely Dan really hitting the heights – moving into hipper, more sophisticated territory than before – pushing the envelope with both their music and lyrics, which are completely sublime! It's hard to put our finger on the magic of this one, but it's the perfect summation of everything ... LP, Vinyl record album
Magical music from the team of Donald Fagan and Walter Becker – one of those records that seems to state its existence in simple, straightforward terms – but which is also filled with undeniably complex moments! There's a definite echo of older jazz here – heard famously in the ... LP, Vinyl record album
Surprisingly funky at times – and beautifully produced, too! Titles include "Funk #49", "Woman", "The Bomber", "Closet Queen", "Thanks", "Ashes In The Rain & I", and "Tend My Garden". LP, Vinyl record album
A full-on jazz rock classic from Colosseum – still grooving hard here, and in an expanded version of their early sound! The core group's still very much in power – with some great organ and vibes from Dave Greenslade, fierce sax work from Dick Heckstall-Smith, and pounding drums from ... LP, Vinyl record album
Hard and heavy guitar rock – kind of in the Thin Lizzy vein, and with a very tasty drummer! Our favorite cut on here is "Spider's Web", which has a great and unusual drum break at the beginning – one that goes on and on and on, with some good guitar fills that sound almost ... LP, Vinyl record album
