Funky soul from this obscure Philly combo! Force Of Nature have a sound that's a lot like Earth Wind & Fire – quite progressive, with lots of jazzy flourishes, and a spiritual message that's pushed with a crossover soul sound. The album seems to have been cut as a one-off Philly International side project – and it does have involvement from Dexter Wansel and Bunny Sigler, but the overall sound is quite different than the usual Philly groove. Tracks include the great mellow cut "Clouds", plus "Signs Of Our Time", "Dreams", "Simba", and "A Spear & A Feather". (Cover has a tracklist sticker, a peeled spot near the top seam, and light wear.)  © 1996-2015, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

A classic album of jazzed-up funk – the one lasting legacy by this oft-sampled group! 9th Creation originally hailed from west of the Bay Area scene of the 70s – and this album was recorded in Oakland with the same sweet jazzy finish as work by some of the other big Northern California ... The second album by this legendary 70s funk combo – best known as Herbie Hancock's backing band, but sounding great here on their own. Keep On Runnin'
Atlantic, 1975. Near Mint-
The third album from Black Heat – and quite possibly the funkiest of the bunch – thanks to an even tighter sound than before, and lots of emphasis on the bottom of the groove!
