Cugat in Spain

LP (Item 6191) RCA, Late 50s — Condition: Very Good+

Cugat plays a host of cha cha versions of Spanish songs, like "Granada", "El Beso", "Playera", "Malaguena", and "Ritual Fire Dance". The sound is the same as his other 50's stuff, with excellent RCA production, and a good choppy groove in the cha cha arrangements.  © 1996-2019, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Stereo black label pressing with deep groove. Cover has light wear and a hype sticker.)

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Mambo Happy!
RCA, 1959. Near Mint-
Perez Prado at his best – sock-hard, with a choppy groove that's supported by some great percussion and really nice orchestrations! The feel here is in his best 50s mode – and possibly even better, as the recording quality on the set is great, and the mambo-focus makes for an album ... LP, Vinyl record album

A rare bit of Latin jazz from this mighty percussionist – the man also known to the world as Mr Bongo! Excellent stuff from Eddie Benitez and his jazzy Latin soul combo of the 70s!
