Very groovy Brazilian work – in a similar vein to Eydie's Blame It On the Bossa Nova LP! Stevie & Eydie recorded this set with bossa guitarist Luiz Bonfa, and Deodato did the arrangements – and they both really bring in a beautiful sound to the set that's quite unlike other ... One of the last great records ever made by Sarah Vaughan – a really solid session of Brazilian tunes, one that's produced by Sergio Mendes, arranged by Dori Caymmi, and which features guest vocals by Milton Nascimento! The general approach is west coast mellow – as the group features ... LP, Vinyl record album
A record that revolutionized the concept of jazz vocals in the 50s – thanks to famous performances by Annie Ross and King Pleasure! The tracks on the LP include Ross' early interpretations of Wardell Gray's classics "Twisted" and "Farmer's Market", and the King Pleasure ... LP, Vinyl record album
A lost little session from Anita O'Day – recorded with some hipper and more sophisticated arrangements than she'd been getting on 50s work for Verve – thanks to charts from Johnny Mandel and Russ Garcia! The style is great – a bit more laidback than some of O'Day's other Verve ... LP, Vinyl record album

One of the few albums that singer Annie Ross cut on her own away from the Lambert, Hendricks, & Ross group while she was still living in the US – and a great little set recorded with a group led by Gerry Mulligan! The sound is west coast cool all the way through – with players who ... LP, Vinyl record album
Perhaps not considered as classic as some of his earlier sides, this album recorded for Perception in the early 70s proves that Johnny was capable of stretching his bag, and not just a play-it-safe interpreter of syrupy ballads. Like a lot of the jazz recordings on Perception at the time (by the ... LP, Vinyl record album
We love Marian Montgomery – and she's a heck of a great singer with a really unusual sound! In an early 60s work of sultry vixens, Marian's got a harder-swinging groove that's almost in a Ray Charles mode – clearly inspired by 50s R&B, but done with enough of a jazz flourish to ...
