The second album by Tom Rapp's legendary group Pearls Before Swine – and a haunting batch of tracks that is far and away one of our favorite rock albums of the 60s! The style of the music is incredible – a dark blend of rock and folk, with slight avant influences, in a style that's ... LP, Vinyl record album
Genius jangle pop from the 60s – great harmonies, tight guitars, and a sound that's familiar but always fresh – the kind of record that should have rivaled bigger hits by The Monkees or Strawberry Alarm Clock! The Five Americans were an incredibly tight group even for their time – ... LP, Vinyl record album
Totally excellent album that remixes a number of great tracks from Nilsson's albums Pandemonium Side Show and Aerial Ballet. The record features some killer stuff – like a remake of his original version of "Without Her", with an even better sound than the original! Other tracks ... LP, Vinyl record album
A nice bit of hippy-dippy rock/pop from late 60s California – a male and female vocal team, with a sound that's somewhere between The Mamas & The Papas and Ian & Sylvia and Jefferson Airplane. The overall sound of the record is very nice – thanks to production by Steve Barri, ... LP, Vinyl record album
Donovan at his jazzy best – really picking up where Mellow Yellow left off, and pushing the jazz influences in his sound to deeper lengths! Mr Leitch is a million miles away from his Dylanesque early roots on the set – and is working in territory that's completely his own – a ... LP, Vinyl record album
The first, and perhaps the most conventional album by Spanky & Our Gang – but still pretty darn insane! The group are a strange mix of 60s styles – with bits of We Five, bits of Harpers Bizarre, bits of The Association – but a totally strange and totally fun approach to pop ... LP, Vinyl record album
An electronic pop masterpiece! YMO's first US release, and their best LP of quirky techno pop, bubbling over with video game noise, synthesized beeps and a stew of futuristic noises all glued together with infectious rhythms. Includes "Computer Game (Theme From The Circus)", "Comput ... LP, Vinyl record album
The second album from Leonard Cohen – a more stripped down effort produced by Bob Johnston, with some really odd washes of sound on the outer edges of the sound – adding some slightly uneasy atmosphere that's paired masterfully with Cohen's moody pen. An album full of subtle triumphs, ... LP, Vinyl record album
Beautiful early work from the great Harry Nilsson – and exactly the kind of record that set him apart right from the start! The tunes are playful, wonderful, and very quirky – yet still sung with this sense of earnestness that sets Nilsson apart from most of the rest of his generation ... LP, Vinyl record album
A strange album when put next to Love's Elektra records – and one that's not without its weaknesses – but the band's got a kick-ass drummer, and the record's filled with more than a few tasty moments that have a bit of funk in them. Layered with Arthur Lee's hip guitar, the sound is ... LP, Vinyl record album
