Very Good

  • Vinyl can have some dirt, but nothing major.
  • May not shine under light, but should still be pretty clean, and not too dirty.
  • May have a number of marks (5 to 10 at most), and obvious signs of play, but never a big cluster of them, or any major mark that would be very deep. Most marks should still not click under a fingernail.
  • May not look near perfect, but should play fairly well, with slight surface noise, and the occasional click in part of a song, but never throughout a whole song or more.
  • This is clearly a copy that was played by someone a number of times, but which could also be a good "play copy" for someone new.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Clean On Your Bean #1/Go Bang! #5
Sleeping Bag, 1982. Good+
A spacey disco classic! "Go Bang" is a wonderful tune – with a jaunty vocal refrain that's laid over some off-kilter keyboard rhythms infused with bass. "Clean On Your Bean" is almost as nice, and even more dubby. Arthur Russell produced, and Francois K mixed! 12-inch, Vinyl record

You Can't Turn Me Away/Pick Up The Pieces
Expansion (UK), 1980/1985. Near Mint-
Totally cool UK 12" reissue single that includes this excellent, much-sampled, and very sought-after track by Sylvia Striplin. Even if you don't know it, you'll recognize the sample in the intro, and believe us, the rest of the track more than lives up to the first 10 seconds! It's got sweet ... 12-inch, Vinyl record

Sound Of New York/Becket, 1982. Very Good
Maybe a bit goofy, but now a classic club track that's survived the test of time nicely as just about every DJ's theme song, with a monster scratchy guitar riff, and lots of that rolling bass pedal groove that was so popular in the early 80s. 12-inch, Vinyl record
