A turgid orchestral score to this Clark Gable star vehicle set in the pre-Civil War south. There's no real surprises, but the soundtrack's a good one if you appreciate the sophisticated orchestral scoring that Steiner did for Warner Brothers. Titles include "Pointe Du Loupe", "The ... One of Jerry Goldsmith's darker scores of the later years – a really spooky bit of music for this eerie sci-fi movie! Although set in space, the film's music almost has a horror feel – really close, claustrophobic, and tense – put together by Jerry with these brooding string ... LP, Vinyl record album
A very strange soundtrack from Andre Previn! The film is an obscure Natalie Wood vehicle – about an actress in Hollywood of the 30s – and it appears that Wood is the vocalist on the album's few numbers with lyrics, written by Andre with the help of Dory Previn, making the set one of ... Arguably one of the most successful James Bond soundtracks of the 70s – written for one of the most successful Bond films of the decade. The real standout, of course, is the title cut by Wings – the excellent "Live & Let Die", a sublime rock number that manages to capture ... LP, Vinyl record album
This one's a mix of late 60s pop themes and original work by Italian composer Stelvio Cipriani – a pretty hip soundtrack overall, for this self-produced effort by Tony Anthony. Naturally, we like Cipriani's tunes the best – especially the slinky, sexy, Italian soundtrack-y ones, a few ... LP, Vinyl record album
One of the greatest soundtracks ever – an archetypal album from French composer Francis Lai, and a record that set the tone for countless other imitations to come – yet which is still the best! The groove here is really unique – a spare blend of bossa influences, jazzy organ ... LP, Vinyl record album
Wonderful wonderful wonderful – and way more than just the western-themed album you'd imagine from the title! The set features Hugo Montenegro at his finest – working in a swinging mod mix of 60s styles that includes weird chorus vocals, fuzzy guitar licks, and some tripped-out ... LP, Vinyl record album
Hard-to-find work by Michel Legrand – screen themes for films that include Maison De Poupee, Le Feux De La Chandeleur, Le Gang Des Otages, L'Impossible Objet, La Vielle Fille, Les Maries De L'An 2, and Un Homme Est Mort! LP, Vinyl record album
Morricone's scores for these two films in the Ringo series – both from Italy, and filled with tunes that are perhaps a bit more comical than some of Morricone's darker scoring for spaghetti westerns. Una Pistola has a number of "old timey" type tracks, and Il Ritorno is a bit ... LP, Vinyl record album
Features some surprisingly nice Tangerine Dream instrumentals – plus the classic "Old Time Rock & Roll" by Bob Seger, and cuts by Jeff Beck, Prince, Journey, Phil Collins, and Muddy Waters. LP, Vinyl record album
