This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap.
We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't
look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time,
we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape —
which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be
torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played,
the record will still qualify as "Sealed".
Additional Marks & Notes
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
A beautifully moody record, recorded by Baden Powell in France – with a group that includes Nelson Serra De Castro on drums, Silvio Silveira and Luiz Agudo on Brazilian percussion, and Jeanine De Waleyne on vocals. The tracks are mostly dark and offbeat, with lots of off-kilter jazzy changes ... LP, Vinyl record album
Killer reissue that combines both of the albums that Airto recorded for Buddah in the early 70s! The records were done with the help of Flora Purim and Hermeto Pascoal, plus Sivuca and Dom Um Romao – and they both boast perfect production, and just the right mix of Brazilian instrumentation ... LP, Vinyl record album
Bossa nova meets organ jazz – a real classic from the great Walter Wanderley, recorded right on the heels of his famous Rain Forest album for Verve! This set's in a very similar format to that one – core trio grooving with organ, bass, and drums – sometimes augmented with added ... LP, Vinyl record album
A rare 80s set from Astrud Gilberto – cut at a time when she was hardly doing any new recording at all! As you'll guess from the title, the album has Gilberto teaming up with German groovemaker James Last – who handles all the orchestrations for the record, and shows a surprising ... LP, Vinyl record album
Beautiful! This is perhaps one of the greatest records ever by this legendary Brazilian vocal group – and the album's a stunning mix of post-bossa arrangements, and the more baroque sort that some Brazilian groups were using at the time. Roberto Menescal produced the album – and one ... LP, Vinyl record album
Great stuff from Walter Wanderley – and a refreshing change from his work on Verve! The record's dated 1968, but we're kind of guessing that the tracks date from earlier years – although we're not sure. Most of the material's as sophisticated as anything Walter was cutting in the US ... LP, Vinyl record album
A great little live set from Maria Bethania – one recorded with the lighter, looser sound she was using in the early 80s – and which stands as a nice contrast to her more dramatic concert performances of the 70s! The music director for the show is Gilberto Gil, and there's a bit of the ... LP, Vinyl record album
A one of a kind record that still sparkles as brightly today as it did back in the late 60s – an amazing collaboration between Brazilian vocalist Elis Regina and Scandinavian jazzman Toots Thielemans – done in a style that easily makes it one of the best records ever from both artists! ... LP, Vinyl record album
One of the more obscure 60s albums from this lovely Brazilian singer – with backings by Orquesta RGE, on titles that include "Pela Rua", "Recado", "Manha De Carnaval", "So Deus", "O Que E Que Falta", "Hino Ao Amor", and "Castigo& ... LP, Vinyl record album
A cool small combo set from vocalist Helen Humes – with excellent backing from a group that features Joe Gordon on trumpet, Teddy Edwards on tenor, Wynton Kelly on piano, and Al Viola on guitar! LP, Vinyl record album
The shrill goofy vocalist lays down a second album of groovy camp tunes that'll make your dog cover his ears! There's a few lame tracks on here, but there's also some great ones, like her versions of "Girl From Ipanema" and "Monday, Monday". Mod arrangements by Fred Bock and ... LP, Vinyl record album
