Shakin' All Over – Guess Who's

LP (Item 607687) Scepter, Mid 60s — Condition: Near Mint-

(Red label stereo pressing, matrix ending in 1A. Cover has a small cutout grommet.)

Near Mint - (minus)

  • Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
  • Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
  • One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so. These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play, but might detract from the looks.
  • May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record. (Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
  • May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
  • Possible minor surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Royal Scam
ABC, 1976. Very Good+
My god, what a record! This one's genius through and through – a set that sometimes gets eclipsed in the brilliance to come, but which is easily one of our favorites ever by Steely Dan! There's a beautifully focused feel here – thanks to Donald Fagan's incredible lead vocals, and a ... LP, Vinyl record album

Inside
Janus, 1974. Very Good+ Gatefold
A pretty nice album of soaring jazz rock tunes – with lots of solo jamming on organ and guitar, and less vocals to get in the way of the instrumental riffing. Titles include "Land Of No Body", "Inside", and "Future City". LP, Vinyl record album

Dev-O Live
Warner, 1981. Near Mint-
More of an EP than and LP, since the tracks are pretty short, and there's only 6 of them: "Freedom Of Choice Theme Song", "Whip It", "Girl U Want", "Gates Of Steel", "Be Stiff" and "Planet Earth". This was only available for a brief ... LP, Vinyl record album

Let's Dance
EMI, 1983. Very Good+
A mega-hit for David Bowie – and an album that reduced some of the complexity of previous efforts, yet still managed to hold onto all that was great! Very groovy work from John Mayall – a double-length set from the early 70s, featuring some great help from American soul jazz musicians! Acid rocky moogy stuff! The record's one of those "let's do a lot of pop covers on the moog" – and it features moogy updates of 60's tunes like "Get Back", "Jumpin' Jack Flash", "Feelin' Groovy", "Yummy Yummy Yummy", and "Time of the ... LP, Vinyl record album
