Vinyl may be dirty, and can lack a fair amount of luster.
Vinyl can have a number of marks, either in clusters or smaller amounts, but deeper.
This is the kind of record that you'd buy to play,
but not because it looked that great. Still, the flaws should be mostly cosmetic,
with nothing too deep that would ruin the overall record.
Examples include a record that has been kept for a while in a
cover without the paper sleeve, or heavily played by a previous owner
and has some marks across the surface. The record should play okay,
though probably with surface noise.
Additional Marks & Notes
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

An obscure one from the Quartette Tres Bien – one of their first new albums for the Decca label, and a lyrically beautiful set of piano and percussion tracks with a heck of a lot of soul! Extremely tight west coast chamber jazz from Graas – working here with a nonet that features a shifting cast of members that includes Art Pepper, Conte Candoli, Shelly Manne, Bob Cooper, Jack Montrose, and Jack Sheldon. From bop to swing – and everything in between! The album's a classic performance by Charlie Ventura – recorded in Pasadena in 1949, with his septet that included Benny Green on trombone, Boots Mussuli on alto, and vocalese bits by Jackie & Roy! Ventura was a key link in two jazz ... LP, Vinyl record album
A 1958 date for Decca, and one that features a much more modern sound than some of Thielemans' earlier records! There's a laidback feel to the record that makes things slightly moody – but the open space also gives Toots plenty of room to mull things over with his incredible lines on ... LP, Vinyl record album
An incredible record from funky drummer Idris Muhammad! Idris is probably known for his funky break work on Blue Note and Prestige records sessions of the late 60s and early 70s – but by the time of this 1974 album, he was really expanding his style, hitting a laidback groove that went way ... LP, Vinyl record album
An essential bit of jazz funk from Donald Byrd and Larry Mizell! The groove's very similar to their classic Places & Spaces LP, and the record's got loads of cool spacey tracks with hot funky trumpet from Donald, and cool waves of synth and sound from Larry. The title cut's a great groover, ... LP, Vinyl record album
Fantastically rare LP on Motown's Workshop Jazz label! Piano player Earl Washington leads a bunch of tight swinging players (Thad Jones, Frank Wess, Frank Foster) through a set of six originals.
