Skatetown USA

LP (Item 606960) Columbia, 1979 — Condition: Sealed
A great Columbia Records anthology from the glory days of the rollerskating film – a set that features "Boogie Wonderland" by The Emotions, "Boogie Nights" by Heatwave, "Shake Your Body" by The Jacksons, "Perfect Dancer" by Marily McCoo & Billy Davis Jr, "Under My Thumb" by The Ounds, "Roller Girl" by John Sebastian, and original tracks "Skatetown USA", "I Fell In Love", and "Feelin Alright" by Dave Mason.  © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.

This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap. We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time, we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape — which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played, the record will still qualify as "Sealed".

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

A fantastic soundtrack from the great Francis Lai! The record is one of his most unusual – and features a number of short songs that focus on spare keyboard work, either on organ, piano, or electric piano, and with some cool groovy instrumentation, and a bit of light strings and woodwinds. ... Graduate – Original Soundtrack
Columbia, 1968. Very Good+
A tremendous little soundtrack – even if you've seen it a million times! Simon & Garfunkel always had a really dark quality to their music, but it never seemed to show as much on the pop charts as it did when used brilliantly by Mike Nichols in this important film. Strange mix of tracks for this film that has Al Pacino going undercover in New York's gay scene of the 70s. Most of the tracks are discrete songs, not instrumentals, and produced by Nitzsche.
