✈

One of the coolest, sexiest, most straight up irresistible French rock & roll albums we've heard in years – a great self-titled gem from Liminanas on Chicago's Trouble In Mind label! Drums, bass, woozy organ and percussion are at the core of the sound – with a raw, neo-classic garage psyche vibe, but it's the sultry, somewhat pulpy mood that sets them apart from the pack. Marie Liminana brings the spare, perfectly effective drums & percussion, while Lionel Liminana does all kinds of groovy stuff – guitar, bass, sitar, melodica, piano, organ and percussion – with special guests sharing vocal duties on alternate tracks. The Liminanas don't hammer away like underground garage kids around the world, they're more into setting a mood, but that doesn't compromise the raw and exhilarating edge. Titles include "The Darkside", "Je Ne Suis Pa Tre Drogue", "Chocolate In My Milk", "Mountain", "Berceuse Pour Clive", "Tears", "Tigre Du Bengale", "Got Nothin To Say" and more.  © 1996-2020, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Out of print first pressing in an LP style sleeve.)

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Used CD Grade

We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD". This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer Used CDs in the best shape possible.

When you purchase a Used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves), and the booklet to be in good shape. Used CDs may show some signs of use but if there are significant details or defects we will list them underneath the item — just like we do with LPs — so look there for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details.

All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly — and if it does not, then you may return it for a full refund.

Serge Gainsbourg

Aux Armes Et Caetera
Philips (France), 1979. Used
A great little album from Serge – possibly his last truly genius record, and one with a very unusual twist! The album was recorded in Jamaica with production from Sly & Robbie – very much in the late 70s, big-business reggae mode – but done with Serge's usual flair for the ... CD

Le Pornographe
Philips/Polygram (France), 1960/1988. Used
Beautiful CD that brings together 20 tracks of the fragile French folk songwriting of the great Georges Brassens. If you don't know Brassens, he was one twisted mofo, and his work has gone onto provide the inspiration for a range of musicians that runs from Serge Gainsbourg to Momus. This set's ... CD

Brigitte Fontaine (1972)
Saravah (France), 1972. Used
