Thing

LP (Item 606870) MCA, 1982 — Condition: Very Good+
An unusual American soundtrack from Ennio Morricone – unusual in that he wasn't always doing that much horror work in the US at the time, and also in that the overall style is maybe a bit like some of his Hollywood contemporaries! That's not to say that the music is commercial or clunky at all – but just that Morricone seems to revel in the kind of darker orchestrations that you might find, say, in the music of Jerry Goldsmith – especially in key passages that have a way of rumbling off in the distance, almost behind the point of hearing! There's a few other passages that make strong use of sparer cello lines, but again in a way that's different than the spacious repetitive Morricone soundtrack style of the 70s – maybe almost more with ties to his experimental work of the late 60s. Titles include "Humanity", "Wait", "Eternity", "Solitude", "Shape", "Contamination", and "Despair".  © 1996-2022, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Cover has a small trace of a price sticker and light wear.)

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Digitmovies (Italy), 1978. Sealed
One of the more contemplative 70s soundtracks from Ennio Morricone – almost a step towards the direction he'd take with some of his big international hits of the 80s! MCA, 1977. Near Mint-
Not Lalo's greatest soundtrack of the 70s, but with a few nice moments!
