Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so.
These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play,
but might detract from the looks.
May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be
intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under
the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record.
(Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
Possible minor surface noise when played.
Additional Marks & Notes
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
Pre-Brunswick material by The Chi-Lites, arranged and produced by Johnny Cameron – with a sound that's more in keeping with the Chicago group soul sound than some of the group's later, sweeter work. There's a nice doo woppy quality to these cuts – with a late nite sound that's very ... 7-inch, Vinyl record
Excellent trippy instrumentals from Chicago! "The Vamp" has some great chromatic guitar – a bit like Cal Green, with touches of Wes Montgomery – over a hard rolling organ on the beat groove. Tasty stuff – the kind of single that would blow the speakers off your jukebox ... 7-inch, Vinyl record
A great Chicago instrumental – and a rolling guitar/organ groove that sounds very similar to Booker T's "Melting Pot", but which has some extra dope guitar that's just amazing! The guitarist sounds a lot like Cal Green – and he's got a really heavy sound that's just great. ... 7-inch, Vinyl record
Two really tripped-out instrumental tunes, with a super-dope guitar finish that reminds us of the best early work by Eddie Fisher! "Traveling Slow" has a smooth stepping sound – very slow, with the guitar just bubbling slightly above some organ. "Evie" has a bit more of ... 7-inch, Vinyl record
Mellow harmony soul from Chicago – a great little indie single by a group we know little about! "You Turn Me On" starts very slow and starts to build up as the track goes on – in a way that turns a slightly sad vocal into a much more positive feel. "Generation Gap" ... 7-inch, Vinyl record
