Chicago VII

LP (Item 605233) Columbia, 1974 — Condition: Very Good+
2LP Gatefold
Still part of the classic early run of the group – one of the most production for an act like this in the 70s – and an album that still has them putting out a double-length set of goodness! Titles include "Byblos", "Song Of The Evergreens", "Searchin So Long", "Call On Me", "Skinny Boy", "Woman Don't Want To Love Me", "Hanky Panky", "Life Saver", "Happy Man", "Aire", and "Devil's Sweat".  © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Goin To Memphis
Columbia, Late 60s. Very Good+
An overlooked groover by this 60s rock act – recorded in Memphis by Chips Moman, with a hard sock-soul approach that's almost a blue eyed soul take on the sound of Stax! There were probably more than a few famous Memphis session players on the set, and you can certainly imagine who might ... LP, Vinyl record album

Out Of Limits!
Warner, Mid 60s. Very Good+
The title track's a mighty big hit for The Marketts – and it's also a great way to describe the group's talent for pushing past their boundaries at the time! The sound is surf instrumental at the core – but really stretches out to space themes, soundtrack areas, and more – thanks ... LP, Vinyl record album

David Bowie

Young Americans
RCA, 1975. Very Good+
A brilliant soul album! That's right, we said SOUL album! Bowie was at the height of his Ziggy Stardust fame when this one was recorded – a drastic left-turn in styles, forged during a point in his American tour when he could take a break, head to Philly, plug in at the Sigma Sound Studios, ...
