Motown Remixed – Hot Remixes Of Motown Classics

CD (Item 604159) Motown/Universal, 2005 — Condition: Used
Out Of Stock

We gotta admit, we kinda like this one! We were a bit suspicious at first – as the genius of Motown hardly needs any messing with – and we had fears that a remix project might just sound silly, goofy, and filled with easy tricks and gimmicks. But the choice of remixers on the set is really great – and includes enough of a range of talents to keep things interesting, but also a small enough group to unify the sound of the album, and still really respect the original vibe of the tunes. Most of the work here is very subtle – and just extends the best core elements, and expands on a few of the strongest musical references – in a way that's really different than the over-done approach of the Verve Remixed project. Titles include "ABC (Salaam Remi Krunk-a-delic party mix)" by Jackson 5, "Quiet Storm (Groove Boutique rmx)" by Smokey Robinson, "Let's Get It On (Producers MPG groove mix)" by Marvin Gaye, "Papa Was A Rollin Stone (DJ Jazzy Jeff & Pete Kuzma solefull rmx)" by The Temptations, "War (King Britt rmx)" by Edwin Starr, "Keep On Truckin (DJ Spinna rmx)" by Eddie Kendricks, "Smiling Faces Sometimes (Futureshock Main Ingredient mix)" by Undisputed Truth, "My World Is Empty Without You (Tranzition rmx)" by Diana Ross & The Supremes, and "I Just Want To Celebrate (Mocean Worker rmx)" by Rare Earth. (BMG music club pressing.)  © 1996-2018, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Used CD Grade

We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD". This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer Used CDs in the best shape possible. All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly — and if it does not, then you may return it for a full refund.

With our Used CDs, you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks — clean, and not dirty at all. You can also expect the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves — putting fresh cases on Used CDs we handle) — and you can expect the booklet to be in good shape, unless noted otherwise. We will list any specific details/defects underneath the item — so look for notes on cutout marks in the case, stamps on the barcode, or details like that.
