Disco giants, and giants of soul – a wealth of 80s groovers served up in a great double-length set – not just club-oriented numbers, but some great crossover soul too! Some of the artists here are the bigger ones of the time, but they're often represented by some of their more compelling tracks – and are nicely mixed next to some lesser-remembered acts who round things out, and keep the track list sounding nice and fresh! Titles include "Happy" by Surface, "Lettin It Loose" by Heatwave, "Just Got Paid" by Johnny Kemp, "Suferfine" by Skool Boyz, "Dressing Up" by Street Angels, "The Heaven I Need" by Three Degrees, "Never Gonna Let You Go" by Chandra Simmons, "Lovin You" by Status IV, "Doin It In A Haunted House" by Yvonne Gage, and "Dancing Tight" by Galaxy.  © 1996-2015, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Used CD Grade

We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD". This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer Used CDs in the best shape possible. All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly — and if it does not, then you may return it for a full refund.

With our Used CDs, you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks — clean, and not dirty at all. You can also expect the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves — putting fresh cases on Used CDs we handle) — and you can expect the booklet to be in good shape, unless noted otherwise. We will list any specific details/defects underneath the item — so look for notes on cutout marks in the case, stamps on the barcode, or details like that.

Uptown/MCA, 1994. Used
Mary J's second LP, and every bit as fine as the first. She's still working with Puffy and Chucky Thompson here, staying true to the commercial R&B formula that has been Blige's mainstay over her entire career. 13 tracks of the fine Brooklyn soul sound, plus a couple of interludes, including ... CD

Numero, Early 70s. Used
An incredible peek into a near-lost chapter of Chicago soul – the tiny Bandit label, home to The Majestic Arrows, one of the greatest indie harmony groups of the midwest in the 70s – plus a few other excellent soul artists! As with the other Eccentric Soul volume from Numero, this one ... CD

Tyson, Late 70s. Used
A lost collection of rare disco work – featuring 7 tracks recorded for the tiny Tyson Records label in New York! The tracks were all arranged by Patrick Adams, and the feel here is very similar to the best titles on Adams legendary P&P Records at the same time – a unique blend of ... CD
