Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so.
These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play,
but might detract from the looks.
May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be
intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under
the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record.
(Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
Possible minor surface noise when played.
Additional Marks & Notes
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
Nothing South American about The Aztecs, as these guys are a great New York Latin combo with a hip boogaloo groove! Marty Sheller penned and arranged both tracks on the single, and they snap along with the best Latin Soul style of cuts on Fania or Cotique at the time! "Damelo" has a ... 7-inch, Vinyl record
The title says "disco", but the track is prime P-Funk all the way! Lots of nice bass work at the bottom, and a trio of female vocals keeping things real over the top – and really getting the most out of George Clinton's funky hook! 7-inch, Vinyl record
Pre-Brunswick material by The Chi-Lites, arranged and produced by Johnny Cameron – with a sound that's more in keeping with the Chicago group soul sound than some of the group's later, sweeter work. There's a nice doo woppy quality to these cuts – with a late nite sound that's very ... 7-inch, Vinyl record
One of those later Parliament cuts that shouldn't be so great – but it is! The track's off Gloryhallastoopid, with a funky bouncing groove, in that post "Flashlight" vibe, with some of the excellent synthesized "wheeeet" keyboards over the bass, just like early Zapp! 7-inch, Vinyl record
Call it a love of dancers or just plain Quincy groove – the album's got lots of nice tight tracks that are a perfect showcase for the ways in which Quincy had such a huge influence on jazz in the 60s! The tunes are often old standards, but done here in a style that's nicely syncopated – ... 7-inch, Vinyl record
One of the greatest "Happy Birthday" songs of all times – a male/female harmony number, sung in a sad, slow style that makes the tune much more of a tear-jerker than you might think from the title! The track's one of the greatest ever by the Tuneweavers, and it's backed by a nice ... 7-inch, Vinyl record
