The complete Bethlehem Records recordings of vocalist Joe Derise – a lesser-known, but really great singer from the 50s – easily one of the standout vocal talents on the label! Joe's got an easily swinging style that's a bit in the mode of other 50s male singers, like Bobby Troup or Jackie Paris – but he's also a bit more fragile, in that intimate style used more by female singers like Chris Connor or June Christy – a great approach that's sensitive, but never too overly-emotive. The collection features all of Joe's work for Bethlehem – some in trio format, with Derise on piano, some with backing from the Australian Jazz Quintet. All of our used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. After you receive a used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly. If it does not, you can request a return for a full refund.
