The tracks are all nice and long, with the kind of open, freewheeling energy that we love back in the 60s soul jazz days when Martino got his start – and as on some other excellent recent dates, the move back to basics works perfectly for Pat's deep talents on the guitar – augmented nicely here by organ lines form Tony Monaco, and some especially tight tenor from Eric Alexander.
