Wild Is Love

LP (Item 5994) Capitol, 1969 — Condition: Sealed
A fantastic later album from Patti Drew – recorded after her early hits, both as a solo act and with the Drew-Vels in the 60s – and done in a much more mature, sophisticated style overall! Richard Evans did the arrangements – and carries over some of his best Chess/Cadet talents – as Patti works her way through a special original suite of songs by Dotti Wayne and Ray Rasch. A huge step forward for a singer who should have continued to give us greatness in the 70s – with titles that include "Wild Is Love", "Hundreds & Thousands Of Guys", "Tell Her In The Morning", "Beggar For The Blues", "In Love Again", and "Stay With It".  © 1996-2025, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Still sealed, with a cutout hole.)

Sealed

This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap. We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time, we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape — which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played, the record will still qualify as "Sealed".

Condition Notes

If something is relevant, we try to describe it in the notes — especially if it is release or pressing details, or an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Best Of Tavares
Capitol, Mid 70s. Very Good+
One of Capitol's biggest soul bands of the 70s – and a strong sweet group who made the shift from mellow soul to the disco years. Sister Woman
Fantasy, 1972. Near Mint-
Very righteous work from Esther Marrow – an overlooked soul singer who works with a hell of a lot of pride and power!
