Woodstock Two

LP (Item 598908) Cotillion, 1971 — Condition: Sealed
2LP Gatefold

The second part of this famous concert soundtrack recording, and still with lots of essential material – a full side of Jimi Hendrix performances, plus more from Jefferson Airplain, Crosby Stills Nash & Young, Melanie, Mountain, Canned Heat, and Butterfield Blues Band – and the audience at the concert singing "Let The Sunshine In" during a rainstorm on Sunday!  © 1996-2021, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Sealed original pressing!)

Sealed

This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap. We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time, we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape — which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played, the record will still qualify as "Sealed".

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Frost

Frost Music
Vanguard, 1969. Very Good+
A pretty electric set of late 60s hard rock tracks – nothing fancy, but pretty nice! The group's heavy on the guitars, and sings in a style that's got some slightly soulful touches – but not too much. Titles include "First Day Of May", "Baby Once You Got It", " ... LP, Vinyl record album

Captain Beefheart & the Magic Band

Clear Spot
Reprise, 1972. Very Good+
Maybe not as nuts as some earlier work by Captain Beefheart & The Magic Band – but a pretty damn great record nonetheless – especially when compared to most of what was hitting the record racks in 1972! The Captain's still got all his wild and unbridled elements fully in place ... LP, Vinyl record album

Partridge Family

Partridge Family Album
Bell, Early 70s. Very Good+
Surprisingly sublime pop from The Partridge Family – served up with superb arrangements from Wes Farrell and Mike Melvoin, the latter of whom plays some really great keyboards on the set! Jefferson

Jefferson
Janus, Early 70s. Near Mint-
Very groovy pop from the one-named Jefferson – a set that boasts some especially swinging production from the legendary John Schroeder! The style here is very much at the peak of Brit pop for the time – sung with a bit of warble on Jefferson's vocals, and supported by some bouncy ... LP, Vinyl record album

Laura Nyro

First Songs
Columbia, 1966/1973. Very Good+
Laura Nyro's first album ever – originally issued by Verve/Forecast in the mid 60s, but brought back out on the market by Columbia, during the height of Nyro's early 70s fame for the label! Even at this early point, Nyro sounds wonderful – a fair bit more soulful than most other female ... LP, Vinyl record album

RCA, 1971. Very Good+
A great album filled with hard breaks, tight choppy guitars, and a deep funky sound. This is one of the best early albums by the Nite Liters, and it's filled with great grooves like "Funky-Doo", "Stinkin Charlie", and "K-Jee" – but just about every track is a ... LP, Vinyl record album

June Christy

The Song Is June!
Capitol, Late 50s. Near Mint-
One of our all-time favorites from vocalist June Christy – part of an excellent 50s run for Capitol Records in collaboration with arranger Pete Rugolo – a talent who transformed the sound Christy cut with the Kenton band into a whole new range for jazz vocals! The setting is rich and ... LP, Vinyl record album
