Also available
Chick Corea — Tap Step ... CD 6.99

...

Near Mint - (minus)

  • Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
  • Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
  • One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so. These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play, but might detract from the looks.
  • May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record. (Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
  • May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
  • Possible minor surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Chick Corea

Children's Songs
ECM, 1984. Near Mint-
Nothing childish here – as the album's a beautiful set of short, spare numbers from Chick Corea – a perfect reminder that he could still maintain a subtle approach to his music, even after years of more dramatic electric sides! Chick Corea

Return To Forever
ECM, 1972. Very Good+
One of Chick Corea's greatest moments on record – the self-titled album by the legendary Return To Forever group – a combo that included Joe Farrell on saxes, Flora Purim on vocals, Airto on percussion, and Stanley Clarke on bass! The sound is archetypal 70s fusion at its best – ... LP, Vinyl record album
Vortex, 1967. Near Mint-
An incredible debut as a leader for Chick Corea – quite different than his 70s work, and a set that's filled with heavy soul jazz and Latin influences! Chick's coming off of years of work in Latin bands, and in smaller soul jazz combos, and his writing here is a mix of the freer style that ... LP, Vinyl record album

My Spanish Heart
Polydor, 1976. Near Mint- 2LP Gatefold
Given that Chick Corea first got his start working in the New York Latin scene back in the 60s, the album's a bit of a return to his roots – even if the general theme here is Spanish, and not Afro-Cuban! The Corea Spanish Heart here is cast in some darker, more contemplative tones than more ... LP, Vinyl record album

Beautiful solo piano from Chick Corea – almost in a Keith Jarrett mode on ECM – mostly original improvisations, plus extrapolations on work by Thelonious Monk and Wayne Shorter! LP, Vinyl record album

Miles Davis

Siesta
Warner, 1987. Near Mint-
One of Miles' last great albums – a soundtrack composed in conjunction with Marcus Miller, and recorded with a mix of atmospheric electronics and trumpet solos, coming off in a way that sounds far better than most of his other attempts at this style from the time. Miller plays all the other ... LP, Vinyl record album

Joe Farrell

Night Dancing
Warner, 1978. Near Mint-
Smooth grooves from Joe Farrell – and a great little set that's got all the best soulful elements of his work on CTI, even if the setting's a bit different! The album's one that we passed over for years, thinking it a slick fusion date – but Farrell's reeds are every bit as sharp as on ... LP, Vinyl record album

Miles Davis

Tutu
Warner, 1986. Near Mint-
A nice collaboration between Miles and Marcus Miller from the latter part of Miles career. As much of the recording here is overdubbed, with many multiple instruments played by Miller, it doesn't have the improvised vibe of Miles' classic performances, but the songwriting and arrangements are head ...
