The second Motown release by this group – a nice mix of jazzy soul and rock styles, handled with production and arrangements that are better than the group's first album. There's some nice smooth LA sounds on the set – and the vocals have a rough edge that's almost got a bit of a David Bowie feel on a few cuts, making for a very strange mix of styles. Titles include "Lucy Squirrel", "My First Rainbow", "This Chain", "Hey Carlito", and "Full Winter Day's Nightmare". (Shrinkwrap has sticker remnants.)  © 1996-2016, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Sealed

This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap. We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time, we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape — which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played, the record will still qualify as "Sealed".

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Stone cold LP of killer seventies funky soul from Chicago! Rasputin Stash made some other recordings that had more of a rock feel, but this one is cold, hard, and funky, with some nice Gemigo/Curtom soul touches. There's a nice breakbeat on the cut "Devil Made Me Do It", plus great ... LP, Vinyl record album

Excellent work from this smooth Chicago vocal group! The album may well be the best the group ever recorded – and it features some stellar ballad work produced with a nice spacey tone, almost in a Rose Royce mellow mode – by Jerry Butler's Fountain Productions team and by Clarence ... A pretty strange little album from LTG Exchange – a blend of Latin, funk, and soul – wrapped up in a comic-stripped cover that pushes the album as sort of a "black rock operetta"! The feel here is different than the group's earlier work – a bit more disco oriented, but ... LP, Vinyl record album
