This image is a general representation of the item and the actual product may differ slightly in terms of color shading, logo placement, borders, or other small details. Used items may have various cosmetic differences as well.
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
Used CD Grade
We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD".
This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer
Used CDs in the best shape possible. All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play
without skipping or flaws. If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove,
you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly — and if it does not,
then you may return it for a full refund.
With our Used CDs, you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of
surface marks — clean, and not dirty at all. You can also expect the case to be
clean (we often change the cases ourselves — putting fresh cases on Used CDs we
handle) — and you can expect the booklet to be in good shape, unless noted
otherwise. We will list any specific details/defects underneath the item — so
look for notes on cutout marks in the case, stamps on the barcode, or details like that.
Sublime vocals from Clarice Assad – a singer who's got some ties to older Brazilian traditions, but who also really makes things all her own – with a dynamic sense of phrasing that's perfectly backed up by some equally great instrumentation! Clarice handled all the arrangments – ... CD
Contemporary takes on older styles from the northeast of Brazil – particularly the older forro modes of the generation of Luiz Gonzaga Sr, plus some other styles as well – all served up with a warmly jazzy finish! The project's headed by pianist Jovino Santos Neto, who also plays some ... CD
The guitar of Toninho Horta is always a treat, but on this album it's made even better by some lyrically light flute work from Nicola Stilo! The set's got a dreamy quality that really gets at the gentler sound of Horta's work on guitar – and a few tunes even feature his vocals, singing in a ... CD
A tremendous little record from Philippe Baden Powell – son of the great Brazilian guitarist, and a musician who's set to impress us as much as his father! Philippe's working here in a mode that's no copycat of his famous father at all – on piano, first of all, and with a style that's ... CD
A brilliant follow-up to the first Brasilianos set from Hamilton De Hollanda – one that's even more dynamic than the first, and which comes with a bonus DVD as well! The group is awash in warm acoustic sounds – Hamilton on 10-string mandolin, Daniel Santiago on acoustic guitar, Gabriel ... CD
A lovely collection of songs penned by Moacir Santos – sung by the equally lovely Muiza Adnet, who really manages to unlock the best spirit of the tunes! Of course, it helps that Muiza's working here under the guidance of brother Mario Adnet, who helped produce Santos' late-career classic ... CD
A loving look at the Adventure Music label – served up in a 3CD set that offers a heck of a lot of great music for a very low price, all hand-picked by the lovely Monday Michiru! Adventure's been one of the best sources for Brazilian music and acoustic sounds for the past decade – a ... CD
A hell of a wonderful record from legendary Brazilian pianist Gilson Peranzzetta – an artist we've loved since his crucial 70s MPB arrangements – working here with younger percussionist Amoy Ribas, who turns in some especially great work on vibes! The music just comes from the pair ... CD
Warmly introspective work from Brazilian guitarist Marcos Amorim – playing a variety of acoustic and electric guitars, in a trio session that features bass by Ney Conceicao, and drums and percussion from Robertinho Silva. Most of the tracks are originals, done in a spacious, post-Metheny ... CD
We're not sure if the "current" in the title applies to the fact that Jovino Santos Neto is playing a bit of Fender Rhodes this time around – but we certainly like that change, and it helps give the record an even richer feel than some of his previous albums! As before, there's a ... CD
A beautifully acoustic session that pays tribute to older choro styles in Brazil – and one that features the talents of Benjamin Taubkin on piano, Naylor Proventa on sax and clarinet, Isaias De Almeida on mandolin, Israel De Almeida on 7 string guitar, and Guello on percussion. The set's got ... CD
