If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
Used CD Grade
We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD".
This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer
Used CDs in the best shape possible. All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play
without skipping or flaws. If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove,
you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly — and if it does not,
then you may return it for a full refund.
With our Used CDs, you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of
surface marks — clean, and not dirty at all. You can also expect the case to be
clean (we often change the cases ourselves — putting fresh cases on Used CDs we
handle) — and you can expect the booklet to be in good shape, unless noted
otherwise. We will list any specific details/defects underneath the item — so
look for notes on cutout marks in the case, stamps on the barcode, or details like that.
A great Tony Bennett LP – very different than others from the time (or any time!) in that the format pairs the master vocalist with the "who's who" of drummers and percussionists of the late 50s – including Art Blakey, Jo Jones, Candido, and Sabu. The sound is as majestic and ... CD
All the early work of the great Rosemary Clooney – brought together here in one wonderful set – complete with a heavy hardcover book of notes and photos too! The set features the full range of styles that Clooney was recording for Columbia at the start – jazz, swing, and even ... CD
An amazing set – really really beautiful, and a whopping 10CDs' worth of material that Billie Holiday recorded during the 78rpm era – for labels that include Columbia, Okeh, Vocalion, Decca, and Parlophone! The package has an oversize cover, with a giant book in the middle – and ... CD
A great album of soulful jazzy tracks from Japanese singer Kimiko Kasai – with keyboards from Herbie Hancock and Webster Lewis – incredible and unjustly overlooked! Kimiko sings in English, and the record's got a nice smooth fusion groove with funky moments, post Headhunters. It's ... CD
The lost second half of the career of Johnnie Ray – material recorded after the singer's big rise to fame in the early 50s, on both the pop and R&B charts – from a troubled time that's often not as well-documented as his hits! And yet Johnnie's still knocking it out of the park on ... CD
An early step in the classic years of Louis Prima and Keely Smith – material recorded for Columbia Records in the years before their better-known sides for Capitol – but all of it plenty darn great! The groove here still has traces of the swing-era Prima in place, and a bit less of the ... CD
A rare album cut by singer Lucy Ann Polk – a magical Mode session from the label's best year of 1957, featuring backing by a sextet that includes Marty Paich on piano, Bob Hardaway on tenor, and Tony Rizzi on guitar. Paich seems to have done the arrangements for the set, and he gives it an ... CD
A huge amount of work from the early solo years of Doris Day – including a wealth of Columbia Records singles, soundtrack material, and duets – all packaged with a lovely hardcover book of notes and images! CD
