I Get Lifted (vocal, inst)

7-inch (Item 5906) Wand, 1976 — Condition: Used
Temporarily Out Of Stock

7-inch, Vinyl record

A great little track – one that's best known as something of a Miami soul hit, thanks to versions by KC & The Sunshine Band and George McCrae. This version's equally great – but done quite differently, as an east coast type club track – lots of strings soaring over the groove, ruff female vocals singing the lead, and a moogy solo on the instrumental version that has a nice P&P feel!  © 1996-2017, Dusty Groove, Inc.

We realize that there are many different interpretations of the standard grades used for pre-owned vinyl record albums & CD, so we thought we'd offer you the ones that we are working with, so you have an idea what we mean when we give the grade for a non-new item on our pages.

Used Vinyl Grades

Below are stated conditions for a used vinyl records at Dusty Groove. Grading for the cover should be assumed to be near (within a "+" or "-") the grading for the vinyl. If there is significant divergence from the condition of the vinyl, or specific flaws, these will be noted in the comments section of the item. However, please be aware that since the emphasis of this site is towards the music listener, our main concern is with the vinyl of any used item we sell. Additionally, please note that all of our records are graded visually; considering the volume of used vinyl we handle, it is impossible for us to listen to each record. If we spot any significant flaws, we make every attempt to listen through them and note how they play.

The following grading conditions apply to the vinyl component of an album or single:

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Private Number/Love-Eye-Tis
Stax, Late 60s. Very Good
"Private Number" is one of the best singles to come out of Stax in the late 60's, and it's one of the greatest soul duets of all time! William and Judy sing back and forth about absence and desire – in a style that's a lot more sexy than we can ever remember from other male/female ... 7-inch, Vinyl record
Federal, Early 60s. Very Good+
Although there were a lot of versions of the cut "Swinging Shepherd Blues" during the 60s, this is one of the hippest – and it's got a great soul jazz vibe to it! The flipside's very nice, too – and both sides feature flute work by Lennie Druss. 7-inch, Vinyl record
Wand, 1972. Very Good
A break track beyond compare! The intro to "I Been Watchin' You" is one you'll know immediately – one of the most sinister 5 seconds of electric funk ever recorded, which then rolls into some killer vocals and a cut with a totally great hook! You'll be playing this one until you ... 7-inch, Vinyl record
Mars, Early 50s. Very Good- 2 x 7"
Great 50s work from Woody Herman – one of his lively sets for the Mars label! Features trumpet from Stu Williamson, trombone from Carl Fontana, and piano from Nat Pierce – and even a few great vocal leads from Woody himself! Great cover too. 7-inch, Vinyl record
