Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the CD. This might include, but isn't limited to, scratches, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Used CD Grade

We only use the grade "Used CD" for non-new CDs. This all-encompassing grade was chosen it because we only buy and offer used CDs in the best possible condition.

When you purchase a used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves), and the booklet to be in good shape. Used CDs may show some signs of use, but if there are significant details or defects we will describe the item's condition (just like we do with LPs), so look for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details before ordering.

All of our used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. After you receive a used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly. If it does not, you can request a return for a full refund.

What If?
Enja/Ultra Vybe (Japan), 1986. Used
Although Kenny Barron's always a heck of a great musician on his own or in a piano trio, we're especially partial to his work in groups with horn players – and this album is a great example of that preference! Kenny first came to fame working with Dizzy Gillespie in the 60s, and since that ... CD

Shinola
Enja (Germany), 1982. Used
A wonderful setting for the guitar of John Scofield – one that really brings out all the rich chromes of his early work on the instrument! The group's a trio – with Adam Nussbaum on drums and Steve Swallow on bass – and in a way, there's a vibe here that reminds us of some of the ... CD
Enja (Germany), 1977. Used
Sublime solo piano from Randy Weston – just the sort of record to remind us why his skills in such a setting can always be so great! The tunes are filled with energy and rhythm right from the start – spun out in those long African-inspired lines that Randy first forged in the 50s, but ... CD

Enja (Germany), 1974. Used
A record that's noteworthy not just as one of the rare few moments as a leader for drummer Makaya Ntshoko – but also for the great contributions of the members of the group – especially saxophonist Heinz Sauer, who really hits his stride here! Sauer's one of those oft-overlooked ... CD

Klaus Doldinger

Passport Live
Wounded Bird, 2008. Used
Later than classic vintage for the Passport group, but still very much in the best spirit of their classics – far-reaching fusion, all headed by creative reedmaster Klaus Doldinger! The set's got a relatively spacious feel – lots of long tracks, with plenty of soloing by the group ... CD
