Jungle (original, jungle mix)

12-inch (Item 58556) Trax, 1986 — Condition: Very Good

Classic first generation Chicago acid house tracks, on Trax, from Marshall Jefferson. Get ready to Jack!  © 1996-2020, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Original green label pressing with some marker.)

Very Good

  • Vinyl can have some dirt, but nothing major.
  • May not shine under light, but should still be pretty clean, and not too dirty.
  • May have a number of marks (5 to 10 at most), and obvious signs of play, but never a big cluster of them, or any major mark that would be very deep. Most marks should still not click under a fingernail.
  • May not look near perfect, but should play fairly well, with slight surface noise, and the occasional click in part of a song, but never throughout a whole song or more.
  • This is clearly a copy that was played by someone a number of times, but which could also be a good "play copy" for someone new.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

A classic early bit of Chicago Latin house that needs no introduction in these parts. Super stripped down, with some nice Latin-y percussion over the top. 12-inch, Vinyl record

Another great Trax single from Adonis, not quite as Acid sounding as "No Way Out", but a catchy groove nonetheless. You've got to love those 909 handclaps! 12-inch, Vinyl record

Trax, 1987. Very Good
Early tracks on Trax, with a very new wave feel, rather than the acid sound that was dominating at the time. 12-inch, Vinyl record

A soulful classic from Chicago! "Move Your Body" is a wonderful house tune – one with a warmer groove than usual, and vocals that really drive the track in a great way. Trax, 1988. Very Good-
Classic from the Chicago house scene – and still a bonafide club floor shaker! "Get The Hole" is a persistent jam that continues on in the "Acid Hole" version – getting more beats focused as it builds. "Under Control" and it's dub version on the flip are ... 12-inch, Vinyl record
Trax, 1986. Good+
If you ask us, this is Larry Heard's finest moment, combining the raw energy of early Chicago house with a jazzy sensibility, warm tones on the keyboards and a spare approach that gives all the elements room to breath. A modern classic! 12-inch, Vinyl record

Great mid 80s Chicago house, very acid, too. 12-inch, Vinyl record

A rare single by Ron Hardy, one of the architects of the Chicago House sound, but more through his legendary DJ work at the Music Box than records. 12-inch, Vinyl record
Trax, 1987. Very Good-
Four tracks of seminal chicago house from Lidell Toownsell and crew, stripped down without too much acid influence, but still great! 12-inch, Vinyl record

Deep dubby almost techno feeling tracks from the first generation of house by Adonis with some help from Frankie Knuckles on the mix. 12-inch, Vinyl record
Emergency, 1983. Near Mint-
One of those electro groovers that's a real guilty pleasure for us! The cut's sure a bit silly – with popping linn drums and bass pedals, and the lyrics are even sillier – but the whole thing's got that great post-punk/post-funk sound that we've always grooved to, and Shannon's sincere ... 12-inch, Vinyl record
Personal, 1983. Very Good+ (pic cover)
The great electro classic – and one that will make you pop so much your shoulders will get sore! The single features the long "Din Daa Daa remix" – with lots of nice parts that drop out, and have the chorus popping out with great isolated sound. Also features the dub mix, ... 12-inch, Vinyl record
