An unusual one from the Dexter's early 70s years – a US session cut with a tighter format than some of Gordon's imports, in a mode that kind of recalls his best Blue Note work of the 60s! The group on the set features Wynton Kelly on piano, Sam Jones on bass, and Roy Brooks on drums – and the tunes have a focus that's really great – still dominated by Dex's tone on tenor, but nicely compacted and recorded with a raspy sort of edge. Titles include "Evergreenish", "Star Eyes", "Rhythm A Ning", "If You Could See Me Now", and "Jumpin Blues". © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.

All of our used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. After you receive a used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly. If it does not, you can request a return for a full refund.
