Near Mint - (minus)

  • Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
  • Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
  • One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so. These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play, but might detract from the looks.
  • May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record. (Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
  • May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
  • Possible minor surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Tim Buckley

Greetings From LA
Warner/Straight, 1972. Near Mint- Gatefold
A later effort from Tim Buckley with a bigger sound and more of a straight ahead approach – with a big nod in the groove direction and some R&B creeping in! In lesser hands, Greetings From LA could be considered more of a "commercial" album than the unpredictable stylistic ... LP, Vinyl record album

Last Waltz
Warner, 1978. Very Good 3LP
One of the most iconic rock and roll shows of all time – the late 70s farewell to The Band – and quite famously, much more final concert by an esteemed band, it's actually a rock, pop, folk, blues and soul summit that features The Band as the house band. Hard
Warner, 1983. Very Good+
A bit of an attempt to dive into early 80s mainstream soul – and one that stands the test of time a lot better than we would have expected, despite the super-polished production that all but buries the group's earlier harder-edged style. There's a lot of really nice soulful backing vocals, ... LP, Vinyl record album
Warner, 1970. Near Mint- Gatefold
One of the great albums from Van Morrison during that incredible peak period – and a record that stands out as a less emotionally fraught effort after the heavy mood of Astral Weeks and the super far-reaching Moondance albums. Warner, 1964. Very Good+
Wonderful early work from Mama Cass and Denny Doherty – heard here in a pre-Mamas & Papas group from the east coast! One of the weirdest albums of the 60s, and a surprisingly big hit for the legendary Tiny Tim – a character then know to TV audiences for his appearances on Laugh-In and other shows – but an artist who sounds surprisingly culture-counter all these years later!
